Just a little about me, if you’re interested…
I graduated with the Course Directors Award for Film and Video Lighting from “Full Sail” where I received an Associate of Science degree in Film and Video Production. After school in Florida I came back home to Wisconsin and landed a job at a local production company where I did everything from sales, shooting, lighting and editing to duplication and delivery. After a couple of years I decided to go Freelance, I had a passion for lighting and it’s really where I wanted to focus my time and attention.
I was lucky enough to meet and work with a local Gaffer who taught me so much more about the trade and craft than I ever knew existed. Since starting off hauling sandbags I have worked as a Grip, Electric, Key Grip, Best Boy and Gaffer. I have come to appreciate more and more not only the physical and technical aspect of this career but also the artistic outlet it provides.
I have been in business since 2000 and in that time I have had the unique opportunity to work with many Gaffers and DP’s throughout the industry, and world, picking up all kinds of lighting tips and tricks along the way. I am based out of Madison Wisconsin in order to be near my family and friends, however I have worked on sets and lit talent from California to Germany.
I know I still have much to learn, but in the pursuit of perfection, in any given field, are we ever anything more than students? I look forward to new challenges, meeting new people and making some beautiful pictures along the way.
